AS Karate Academy teaches Wado-Ryu style of Karate. Wado‑Ryu (meaning "Way of Harmony"), was founded in 1934 by Hironori Ōtsuka, making it one of the earliest formally recognised Japanese karate styles. Wado‑Ryu is a fast, technical karate style focused on precision, evasion, and efficient movement.

AS Karate Academy is a member of the English Karate National Governing Body, affiliated to the British, European and World Karate Federations (Olympic recognised).

Details: Your licence book provides your affiliation to AS Karate Academy and the English Karate National Governing Body (EKNGB), the only governing body of Karate in England recognised by the World Karate Federation and IOC Olympic Committee. Your licence book is also required for gradings. With every new belt your child grades for, you must hand in your licence book so that the Sensei marking them can sign and date and update their book with their new belt achievement. This is an annual fee that needs to be updated every year.
